Brahmanettes finish in top third of Cy Fair / Katy ISD Classic

The Brahmanettes won four matches and lost four matches this past weekend in the Cy Fair / Katy ISD Classic. They opened on Thursday, August 9th, with victories over Cy Lakes (25-18, 25-18) and Spring (25-21, 25-14). Memorial defeated the Brahmanettes (16-25, 25-21, 25-16) that afternoon to finish the first day of the tournament.

On Friday, they defeated Bridgeland (19-15, 28-26, 25-22), then fell to Klein (25-19, 25-8) and Cy Woods (24-26, 25-22, 25-23). They returned home to participate in the Meet the Brahmas and Brahmanettes program at the High School that night.

Saturday, the Brahmanettes opened with a win over Stratford (25-23, 15-25, 25-11, 25-23) and finished the day by falling short to Klein Collins in four (23-25, 25-15, 25-17, 25-18).

The Brahmanettes went 4 - 4 in the tournament, but played against strong competition with the 5A and 6A schools. Overall, the team finished 14th out of 48 teams participating in the Tournament. Junior Mackenzie Morgan was selected to the All Tournament Team.

The Brahmanettes return home to face Cy Creek and Schulenburg on Tuesday, August 14th, with games starting at 5PM. They will travel to Bastrop to play in the Bastrop Varsity Tournament on August 16th, 17th and 18th. For the season, the Brahmanettes are even with five wins and five losses.
